Shhhhh

Went out to the Canopy on Wednesday for a great night of acoustic music.  Jonathon Childers was entertaining as usual.  He’s a talented songwriter and a name you should look out for in the near future.  Carl Hauck was up on the stage next and gave a great performance.  He has a great voice and is an incredibly talented guitarist.  He is easily one of the most talented singer/songwriters in C-U.  Tracey and Tricia followed up with their last show in the area for the past few months.  I honestly didn’t hear too much of their set.  However, their cover of Modest Mouse’s “Float On” sounded great.

Joe Pug took the stage next.  He was the favorite of the night, playing tracks from his EP “Nation of Heat” as well as some new songs from his forthcoming debut full length.  I’ve never heard the crowd in the void room applaud so loudly after Joe’s performance of “Hymn #101.”  Joe has a special sort of talent that doesn’t come around too often.  Make sure that you come check out his show the next time he comes to the area.

Stan McConnell finished off a great night of music with a great variety of Santa songs, cover songs, and some songs of his own.  His solo performance of Santa’s “Holy Hum” was a personal favorite of mine.  It was amazing night of music that I won’t soon forget.
