OK Go Recap
While some people may say that OK Go doesn’t do it for them musically, most would agree have to agree with me in saying that they put on a really fun live show. I definitely enjoyed their set Wednesday night, full of confetti, interesting videos on the backdrop, and even a song played entirely with handbells. The closer “Invincible” is definitely their best song and was a great way to close out the night.
What I was most pleased with, however, was the quality of the new songs they played. Of the three, I really enjoyed two of them (both I believe are available on iTunes). The album comes out in January, and I think after seeing this show I’ll definitely have to go pick it up.
Come out tonight for Family Groove Company, Mhondoro Rhythm Success, and My Dear Alan Andrews. Covers only $7 and the show starts at 8pm. Should be a blast!
ACE FREHLY!!!!
Before I get to this great show tonight, I must say that the Corey Smith crowd Saturday night was easily the most patriotic crowd ever assembled at the Canopy Club. There were so many USA chants that I thought I was at a Toby Keith concert. Corey put on a great show for a great group of Americans.
Speaking of American heroes, the time has finally come for Ace Frehly to take the Canopy Club stage tonight! The show starts at 7 and it’s sure to be one of the best of the semester. Don’t expect any KISS makeup, but expect a great rock and roll show nonetheless. His new album, Anomaly, was released a couple months ago, so look forward to some tunes from that. 16 Second Stare and Verdict will also be performing.
