Come out tonight for a couple of my favorite comedies of all-time at 10pm and midnight. Best in Show begins the night followed by the classic This is Spinal Tap. I know I’ll be out there enjoying a large pizza and pitcher of beer for $10 tonight. There’s no better deal in town!
Umphrey’s Has Taken Over!
Umphrey’s McGee has officially arrived for their two day stint here at the club. All I’ve been hearing about today is how insane the light show is gonna be, so make sure to check it out. If you don’t have tickets yet, get them soon! Friday night is already sold out and there are still a limited amount for tonight’s performance, so get online or to Family Pride before it’s too late!
New School Year!
Hello all, hope that classes are going well for all you students out there. I’ve graduated and I was even getting excited for the new year to start. Campus was a bit dead this summer, but with a great batch of shows announced things will certainly pick up. Neko Case, Curb Service, This Must Be the Band and many other awesome shows have been confirmed in the last few days, it’s been really exciting.
What I’m most excited for, however, is tonight. Why you ask? Because I start bartending tonight, that’s why! Come out and buy some Long Islands from me at the Piano Man tonight, it’s sure to be loads of fun as usual. That’s all for now, though, I’ll check in before the two huge Umphrey’s shows this week!
Oh it’s You Again
Hello all,
Back and finally feeling better after I fell ill for a few days thanks to Lollapalooza. Friday’s rain messed me up pretty bad, but it was worth it to see the Gaslight Anthem rock Friday afternoon. I also got to check out a couple Pygmalion bands while I was there. Joe Pug had a full backing band for a few songs and let me tell you, it sounded awesome. Let’s hope the band makes the trip down with him to Champaign. Ra Ra Riot sounded great as well, I’m really looking forward to seeing that at Krannert.
Well I’ve definitely got some catching up to do with this. First off, I came back to see that Blitzen Trapper has been confirmed to play here in October! That’s going to be a sweet show; if you haven’t heard their latest Sub Pop record “Furr”, I highly suggest you do soon. Here’s the video for the title track.
We’ve also got another highly blogged-about indie-folk group coming through by the name of The Rural Alberta Advantage. They got some love from Pitchfork, their debut album “Hometowns” got a solid 8.0 on their crazy scale. It’s sure to be a fun show, come out and see it on September 23rd!
That’s it for now, make sure to come out tonight for an early taste of Pygmalion as Common Loon and You & Yourn will be opening for Say it With A Smile. Shows at 9pm, cover’s only $7!
